Doing some early research for our next trip in June next year. We've been to Japan twice before, and in terms of castles have only visited the one in Kumamoto. We have been to Osaka and Kyoto before but not visited the castles there. So for the next trip I'd put a castle visit on the itinerary, but am wondering which one to pick:
- Osaka castle
- Nijo castle in Kyoto
- Himeji castle (anything else at Himeji to combine it with for a worthwhile day trip?)
- Any other castle not too far from Osaka or Kyoto?
