1. Does text extractor work with emulators? I want to try playing Pokemon in Japanese since playing on a console takes too long (to look up words).

2. Hi. What would be the correct one of the following two sentences? Or would they both be acceptable? In which case, which one is more natural?

   – 書くのは慣れたければ、いっぱい練習しなければいけない。

   – 書くのは慣れたいなら、いっぱい練習しなければいけない。

   Sorry if they’re both unnatural, I made them both up. If this is the case, can you please inform me of what’s wrong?

3. From the short story 百物語 by 北村薫:

   ある路線が不通で復旧の**見込みがたっていない**と繰り返した。

   Context: The narrator is explaining why a girl he was meant to accompany partially to her home instead ended up with the main character in his apartment, and one reason is lightning struck one of the train line’s which put it out of order.

   Question: I understand the meaning of the sentence as a whole and the individual words themselves, but I’m confused about the 見込みがたっていない. I’d like to know what the kanji for たっていない is, because all the ones I’ve searched don’t really seem to make sense (立つ, 建つ, 経つ, or some other). And also, how does it work together with 見込み? Is it a set phrase?

4. I’m currently self-learning japanese from reading Genki (pre-N5), doing the practices, and studying the Genki Anki deck. Also playing around with some apps just for fun.

   Anyone here got to the higher levels strictly from self-study? Do I need to go to a face to face or virtual class eventually? There are times I don’t understand something in Genki and wish I could ask questions.

   My aim is mostly to enjoy japanese media, and learning a new language to challenge myself. Conversational would be a plus when I visit japan, but not a priority.

5. Do you guys find that immersing yourself in japanese material WAYYY above your level helps in any amount? Like as in you get nothing except for a few words here and there?

6. **Appreciates if someone can explain to me what did this mean いかがしなんした？ , I met this hard part in a sentence.**

   **A character asked MC ,while she felt like he’s looking really nervous.**

   ところで晴哉様、今朝はいやに緊張の面持ちじゃな。**いかがしなんした？**

7. Could anyone explain the grammar in the sentance below. I understand that it means ‘with no travel intentions and one hand on a bucket’ but do not understand the middle part.

   “旅じたくをする**ようすもなく**片手にバケツ”

   “to do travel preparations ****something**** one hand on a bucket”

   Anyone able to break this down for me? would be greatly appriciated. thanks 🙂
