Scooter/Moped/Gentsuki users in Japan, could you give me some advice?

I'm 26F and live in a rather small city near Tokyo, very peaceful and good to live but since I'll be starting a full time job next year I'm thinking of getting an update from my 5k yen Hard Off bycicle to something move convenient to go to work and do daily stuff like grocery shopping. I'd love to get driver's license, but just thinking of the price of the menkyo plus buying the car and paying for parking space is not really in my budget for at least a few years, so I've been watching some japanese videos about Gentsuki and got a little hyped about it.

For what I've read, the license for a 50cc 原付 vehicle is rather cheap and you can even obtain it in a single day after taking a written test and going through an in person 3-hour lesson. The prices for the scooter itself can vary a lot, but I'm totally fine with getting a second hand one, and hopefully once with a basket to carry groceries. Gasoline price is something out of my knowledge, so I'd love to know how much would someone spend in gasoline each month and any other expenses a scooter would require aside from the buying price. I wouldn't go very far tbh, most likely less than 1 hour every day – probably 4-10km on normal days and 20-30km once every couple of months.

For my situation, do you think getting a scooter/gentsuki is even a good idea, or should I stick to an electric bike? Thank you for stopping by to read!
