Where can I buy a legitimate replacement smartphone battery?

I want to replace my iPhone X battery. I have all the necessary tools and experience, but I need to source the battery from somewhere. Amazon and Rakuten are full of obvious scams, advertising high capacity batteries, sketchy Chinese sellers, and the like. Does anyone here know of a legitimate JP seller?

I would order from somewhere like iFixit, but they only ship within the US.

I don’t want to have a 3rd party repair shop change the battery because 1) Their prices are more expensive than Apple and 2) I’m wary of their source of batteries. However, if anyone has had a good experience with a 3rd party shop, I would love to hear it.

I also don’t want to send my phone to Apple because it will take 5-7 days plus shipping time. Hokkaido doesn’t have a physical Apple store anymore.

  1. Ive bought no name chinese batteries for my Asus zenfone and they worked just fine. That’s pretty much also what Apple and other repair stores use too.

  2. you can buy from amazon ( and have 1 month warranty) but only be sure that it has PSE mark an also i take less than 1 week to come to your home, otherwise ir is coming from china.
Also i recommend read the comments.

  3. Use an Apple Authorized Service Provider like Kitamura.

It’ll be more expensive than doing it yourself, but you’ll get at least 90 days warranty on the repair. They’re also required to use authentic Apple parts and use the same methods and diagnostics that Apple Stores do.

Also, if they screw up the repair (for a reason unrelated to pre-existing physical damage) they’ll replace your whole phone for the price of the battery.

  4. Part-time cellphone repair here!!
I have used amazon many times to buy batteries for apple devices and they are genuinely great.

Perhaps they’re busy with repairs these days, but I had apple swap in a new battery on a macbook pro. Shipper picked it up on a monday, brought it back on friday of that week. (tho I’m on honshu, not hokkaido)

  6. Download the Support app and find an authorized repair shop through it. You will be able to see where you can have it replaced, you can book time, and you will see how much it costs.

  7. I used to work in an iphone repair shop in the US

iPhone X & the water resistance bit makes the repair not fun but doable.

The batteries on Amazon are probably okay. I’ve bought a few from digiforce over the years (probably 6 times…for different phones)
