I am trans (ftm) and I have been told not to mention that I am transgender at any point in the application. However, I have already medically transitioned and I live as a man. People generally have no idea that I am transgender unless I tell them. I have not changed my legal gender (though I am listed as male on my passport). I do not plan to mention this outright unless I have to, but I imagine it would be difficult to hide if there were any investigation into my medical background. Will this be a dealbreaker?
Please do not try to warn me about facing transphobia in Japan. I know. I face it in my home country, too.
