We will be moving to Kyoto soon, and am wondering if there any disaster alert apps / email alerts the City (or the larger prefecture or the ward in Kyoto) offers. Lived in Kamakura for a while and they have an email you can get that sends out notices of upcoming J-Alert tests, or what the level of an earthquake was, or recent crimes, or missing people or (mostly actually) warnings of telephone scams. But still helpful. Minato-ku in Tokyo has a Disaster Prevention App and there's a Kanto area river flooding app; never know when it comes in handy. Plus you can sign up for emails of heavy rain or river rising and weather warnings (always windy and dry air). But in looking at the Kyoto City website(s) I don't seem to see anything. Is there anything comparable (Japanese or English)?
