Has anyone had difficulty logging into the SmartEX system both on the smartphone app and the desktop web browser?
I've tried so many times over the last month or so and it always gives me the "We are sorry, the service is currently not available due to system maintenance. Please see the website for details" message on the app and a "Access Denied. You don't have permission to access "http://shinkansen2.jr-central.co.jp/RSV\_P/smart\_en\_login.jsp?" on this server. It doesn't matter when I do it either, in the morning, afternoon or evening (Australian time). I also make sure to avoid the days they do system maintenance (as published on their website) but even on days they don't do maintenance I still get the same error messages.

Try using a VPN with a Japanese/Singaporean server and see if it helps.
SmartEx has been known to block foreign IPs for some reason, even if you’re in a country with supposed access.
