POVO question – eSIM usable for US iPhones and what happens to LINE?

Hi everybody.

I’m a newbie on POVO and thinking about getting POVO for my 2nd line with my primary one being a US number.

  1. I heard somewhere that people have been having issues setting up eSIM for an iphone purchased in the United States.
Does anyone have any info on this?

  2. How does dual sim work with LINE?
I have LINE set up with my primary one being a US number but can I switch over to a different LINE account with my prospective Japanese POVO line?

Thank you in advance!

  1. 1. no issues. all models esim functionality is identical. I’ve moved (and added new) a povo esim between u.s., Canada, and Taiwan models of iphone 15 pro max.

    2. line doesn’t care how many sim cards you have or even what number you use for it. I’ve made a line account tied to a landline some years ago, and used it on a phone with a throwaway rocket mobile sim. you can keep using it with USA number as is, but you may miss out on some regional features of the service (like more overpriced stickers).

i don’t know if you can migrate from one region to another on the same app, never tried. i do know that you can only use one number per app, and that it doesn’t support multiple profiles. so if you want to switch your account to Japanese number you’ll either migrate current (don’t know if possible) or create new using jp number. and keep using usa account on a different device.

  2. My Line account is logged into both my PC and a completely different phone to which it is registered to. No problem at all
