Spouse Visa holder with Mortgage – what happens if I loses it?

This is one of those r/showerthoughts so bear with me. What happens to my mortgage if I lose my spouse visa due to spouse's passing, divorce, etc. and say I'm not able to find a job quick enough to switch to work visa?
