Japan Spouse visa – Guarantor needed if working for a Japanese company remotely from the U.S?

I am hoping to get advice on my situation as the spouse of a Japanese national, living together in the U.S. currently, and looking to move back to Japan.

We moved to the states a couple of years ago but have been considering moving back to Japan for personal and financial reasons. The only problem is, we don’t have a guarantor in Japan for the Spouse visa.

So, we are wondering if perhaps, my income could be used?? Let me explain.

I work for a Japanese company as a Sole Proprietor. I send the company invoices in Japanese Yen, which they then translate to USD and remit to my U.S. account. My income is consistent and sizable.
My wife and I also have a Japanese bank account with funds saved. If it’s better to do so, I can opt to have my company send payments there if that will give us a better chance at evading the need for a guarantor.

Does anyone have any idea how this would work, if at all? What are our options here given our situation? I’ve scoured the internet and Reddit threads for those with similar situations, but to no avail. Am thinking of hiring an immigration attorney, but thought I’d try a good ol’ Reddit post first.
