Hi! Am planning a trip and was wondering if I should spend more time jn miyakojima and skip either zamami and tokashiki. Current plan is to spend 2 days in miyako, one in zamami and one in tokashiki. Am just looking at doing beach activities/ enjoy the nature in general.
Thank you!

I am also planning my trip and have this same question!
They all have beautiful beaches and great snorkeling, but Miyako is a much bigger island. Zamami and Tokashiki can be day trips from Okinawa via the ferry. Miyako has resort hotels and a variety of restaurants, but the hotels on Zamami and Tokashiki are small and there are only a few restaurants .
Almost apples and oranges because miyako is so much bigger…
If that’s all the time you are dedicating to those islands it’s almost a waste. So much of your time will be lost in traveling.
If you can spend 3-4 days on miyako with a rental car, skip the keramas.
2-3 day on Miyako is nice but I doubt they have snorkeling as good as Furuzamami beach on Zamami.
Late but i’m currently in the keramas (6 days) and was just in miyako (5 days). It really depends on what vibe you want. Keramas is more remote, basic and overall feels more wild. Miyakojima is better for a longer duration and feels more built up, but it’s beauty is more accessible and easy to get to. You can hire an electric bike and see most of the island. I personally prefer miyakos beaches and convenience (i.e. stores nearby, accessible scenic spots, easy airport access) but i liked the wild vibe that tokashiki had and zamamis sea life.
