First time traveling to Japan from the US. Tokyo and a town near Mt. Fuji or Tokyo and Osaka?

Torn between spending time in 2 large cities, or 1 large city (Tokyo) and a few days in a relaxing town near Mt. Fuji. Our plan is 3 days in Tokyo, 3 days in Tokyo Disneyland and then 2-3 days in either Osaka or a town near the Fuji.
