Hey I just moved to Japan. I am interested in living in kyoto. I was wondering if collectives are even a thing? I would love to live in an apartment with other young people.
they’re called Sharehouses over here. communal living, you have your own bedroom, some have their own bathroom/shower, but you share the kitchen, washer/dryers, some have nifty ammenities(gym, theather, pool, sauna)

U mean Sharehouse? There are a bunch. But if u are planning to live in Sharehouse to save money, let me tell you it’s about the same as living alone. Currently I live in one and it’s been great for me.
