Plenty of fireworks going off tonight instead of the usual American village ones. Doesn't seem to be a national holiday, and while looking up the traditional calendar shows a holiday tomorrow it's about cutting grass and rejecting pests…doesn't seem like a celebratory thing to me…
Can anyone give those of us out of the loop some local culture education…or perhaps just a link to where I should have read about it myself already?
