Safe places for dancing

Where can a woman go out to dance by herself in this city without being too bothered by hunters? Would prefer queer friendly spaces, but any clubs/events/etc that have a nice safe community are welcomed.

(Context: Just moved from Nagoya, so I'm still trying to find my own people and places where residents hang out.)

  1. I just started barhopping myself so I’m not 100% certain, but i really like giraffe and grand slam. They are both LGBT bars. Giraffe is small with a relaxed atmosphere and the bartenders were super nice. I had a good experience with the other patrons as well.
Grand slam is more lively (think loud music) and a lot of foreigners go there. You can sing karaoke there too! The experience was really fun. I’m planning to go to both bars again. Good luck on your adventures and stay safe!

  2. Rake?raka! is a very nice and safe place, if you enjoy dancing to techno and psytrance ! DM me if you dont want to go by yourself

  3. I saw sometimes girls dance practice in large park. For example, 長居公園

  4. If for dancing you mean clubbing – electronic music, I think safest are Circus and Compufunk.

  5. If you are interested in the ballroom/kiki scene, there are a few events in Osaka throughout the year

  6. There are regular queer friendly events at Sound Garden. They feel extremely safe. Also I’ve been wanting to check rake?raka? for a while (mentioned in another post) so don’t hesitate to DM if you want to have a go one of these days!

  7. Interested in partner dancing at all? The West Coast Swing scene in Osaka is very small but super friendly!

  8. Turn your attention to the Sound Garden!! ☺️ They have queer geared events. There is also house of kinki queer events as well to keep an eye out for. Emo nights are also quite queer friendly from my memory. Enjoy yourself

  9. I highly recommend dancing on the sidewalks/walking area near Glico man. The lights make you feel like you are at a club, the people are happier than at clubs, and it’s free.

The only thing you need is your own turn up supplies and good headphones.
