16 Days in Japan | Fukuoka to Tokyo | Looking for suggestions and Itinerary Check

Hi all,

So I will be heading to Japan for the first time with my wife this October and we are planning to cram as much as possible into this trip as we are not sure if we will ever make it back. I have booked the flight currently over there but I have yet to book the Stays yet for any night as we are still trying to figure out the Itinerary. We need some particular help towards the tail end when we are in Tokyo for a few nights, but wanted to hear peoples thoughts on the Itinerary we have planned and make some changes around it. We are very much interested in culture aspects such as Shrine and Temples, we also enjoy going for nature walks and getting lost discovering new locations.

I know getting a car can be mad in a country where public transport is god tier, however I noticed that parts of the trip would be harder to fit in if we didn't have our own form of transport and would have to reduce elements of the journey.

If you have any suggestions in additional places to visit or places I can probally remove or even spend more days in certain locations, please let me know as I am looking to get as much out of this trip as possible.
