Solo Backpacking

Hello! I 20M plan on doing a solo backpacking trip through Japan. Though it’s my first time backpacking and also traveling solo I‘ve got a few questions! Also sorry for bad english

It‘s supposed to be a spontaneous/adventurous trip without a full planned schedule.

Route:
My plan is to start in Fukuoka and spend around 2 ½ weeks getting to Tokyo.
I want to enjoy mostly the countryside of JP and not necessarily visit the bigger cities.
What are good recommendations worth visiting or traveling through?

Budget:
What should I expect for 2 ½ weeks?
Is a budget of 50€ a day (for food and accommodation) enough or should I go higher/lower?

Getting around:
I would like to walk as much as I can but renting a bicycle would be ideal.
Is the JR-pass worth buying or are bus connections as efficient as trains?
Also does anyone know a place that lets you rent bicycles for a longer time period? The drop off should be possible in a different location too (since my final destination is Tokyo).

Equipment:
I plan on buying the Osprey 40L backpack. Does anyone have some experience with it? I think the size should be enough

Social:
Even though I plan on going solo I wouldn’t mind some company. Are there locations which are good for meeting people? (like hostels etc) If you happen to travel during the same time feel free to hmu!

Thank you for the help in advance!
