    A good way to conceptualize it is this:

    Ha introduces something as the topic.

    わたしはせがたかいです。
    は = *I don’t know about everyone else*, but as for me I am tall.

    Ga identifies which of the options is correct

    わたしがせがたかいです。
    が = *Forget everyone else. out of all options available,* I am the one that is tall.

    (Yes, you can have two ga’s in a sentence)
