Hello. Moving to Japan in a week.
My wife is a Japan citizen. I am US American citizen. Have spouse Visa.
I've read places that drones need to be registered, but all these results seem catered to foreigners visiting Japan. What if it was being taken "by her" in her suitcase? (Batteries in carry on). When I search in Japanese, it seems some people (presumably Japanese) enter Japan after purchasing drones abroad without registering.
The catch seems to be to keep li ion batteries in carry on. It is a small mavic mini. Plan to use for countryside views and real estate.
Anyone have experience? Worst fear is Drone gets chucked at entry, but the registration seems so user unfriendly and complicated, and the flight is just days away. Thanks.
