This is an extremely random question, but I was wondering if something I am experiencing is just my students or if this was a broader trend with students across Japan.
Whenever I do an activity with my students that involves the use of dry-erase markers, students will inevitably ask for a new marker because "there's no ink left inside" immediately upon the marker showing any sign of the ink fading what-so-ever. Even if it's the SMALLEST amount of fading they just flat out refuse to use it, even though they're still able to write completely legibly with it. I wouldn't think too much of it but it's getting to the point where I'm having to stop using perfectly fine pens because my students just will not use them and it feels like a gigantic waste.
Does anyone else have this problem? If so, do you have any idea why this occurs?
