Need help finding good sources for traditional pattern ideas

I’m creating a character rn and i’m trying to find authentic traditional patterns used for clothing, preferably patterns used on samurai clothes or kimono etc. I tried looking on google but search results are low quality and very random and i’m having a hard time finding anything i could use as a base.
Are there any websites where i can find different kinds of pattern samples and ideas?

  1. I looked for a while to see if there were any patterns from Edo period, but did not see any.
I think the kimono itself is not that different from the modern day kimono, but fabric patterns , colors, the way it’s worn, and the accessories are what make a big difference between Edo period and modern day kimonos. Here is a link to “Kimono patterns for sewing”.

    Good luck!

  2. Search 和柄 (wagara) and you’ll get a bunch. Most if not all has meanings attached to it!

I didn’t read this article but this one seems to provide explanation in English, and I think you can search for more using terminologies from there.

[This](https://www.ymds.co.jp/blog/2012/03/post-36.html) is associated with theif so it’s used as a motif for those characters (and that article explains how it came to be so. I recommend deepl.com for readable translation.) I’m not sure if kids today associates this pattern with such character anymore even though I’m not that old (30’s).
