What areas would be good to live in?

I'm an international student, right now studying Japanese and soon will start working part time.

Me and my current roommate in the dorm are looking for houses, and he's pretty keen on Kameari, since it's where his Japanese friends and girlfriend are, but I don't particularly feel like I like the place. I've just been there twice I think.

Our school is in Takadonababa, and I wanted to know, what alternative areas can We get a house in, where she can easily access Kameari, close to the central Tokyo, and affordable?

Is Kameari good, or are there better places for us to look for a house?

  1. My ex lived there so I went pretty often, the only way I would consider kameari good is if your school or job was there, otherwise it’s not

  2. I recommend to live near Seibu-Shinjuku stations like Saginomiya station.

I also study at a school in Takadanobaba and I live in saginomiya which express train goes straight to takadanobaba station without stopping.

  3. I dont know how affordable it is but shimo-kitazawa is a nice neighborhood

  4. If he wants Kameari, but you want something a little better connected, then maybe look around Ayase or Kita Senju (if your budget allows). That way he’s still close, but you’re on the Chiyoda line and also in a nicer neighbourhood. Ayase is quite nice. Lots of parks, the commercial area around the station is cool, and it’s just next to Kita Senju, too.
