Anyone been to Magome and is it worth it?
I am so keen to do a rural Japan stopover but have a few hesitations
we are doing this on the way to tokyo from Osaka, I calculate about 4-5hrs of travelling, is it worth it or should i try for a more accessible rural stop
realistically we'll have late afternoon to late morning there in order to catch transport back to tokyo
we won't have time to do the full Magome-Tsumago Trail, , but thought we could do a smaller walk and explore the town. Is the hike difficult and are we missing out if we dont go to Tsumago?
I mostly want to stay somewhere really scenic, see some Edo architecture and experience an authentic ryokan. Any other suggestions for this in between Osaka and Tokyo thats accessible by train?
