I currently consider buying a house in Tokyo, and there are quite a number of interesting offerings in the area.
Anyone can share what is your experience of living there? Would you consider it as a potential place for a house?
Pros for me so far:
- Quiet and low-rise residential area
- Well connected to the city centre: Fukushin and Yurakucho allow rapid direct access to most of central Tokyo
- Lower price compared to more central areas like Shinjuku/Toshima, as well as other residential areas like Setagaya
- There are some nice cafes and bakeries in the area
- A good number of schools, incl. an international school (not relevant now, but may be in future)
Cons so far:
- Less vibrant vs popular residential areas like Setagaya
- No parks
- Feels less “international” ?
