Employed a Japanese speaking intermediary to assist with the viewing process. Went to the selling agents office to book an appointment. He said no, cannot. Why? Cannot. Do you have any other properties available? No. Nothing available. Good bye.
So yeah, agent doesn’t want to sell to us (cash buyers). Is it because of our approach? Do they just not want to deal with foreigners? I’m flummoxed
Update: thanks for all the answers and information! question still stands, is the sellers agent fixed (sole agent)? Is there another way to buy the house without going through that agent?
Update: not a resident. Worked in Japan for 7 years in the past on a work visa. A2 level fluency.
