Best place for exchange? Chiba, Nishinomiya or Nagoya?

I am going on exchange for 6 months. My choices are Meijo University (Nagoya), Kanda University of International Studies (Chiba) or Mukogawa Women's University (Nishinomiya). I understand these are not super reputable universities, so I think my main concern is their locations. I want to be able to travel on my time off/weekends etc. so I want there to be things nearby for me to see and do.

Would I be right in assuming that it would be best to be situated near some 'big' city, so that there are more things near me and I have to travel less? In this case, I was wondering if Kanda University of International Studies would be the best option as it is located in Chiba, which is sort of close to Tokyo? I don't know anything about Nishinomiya or Nagoya.

Please advise, and let me know if you have any info about those specific universities, or the general areas, and what kind of stuff is there to do there. Of course, being there for 6 months I will try to make longer journeys where possible to see different parts of Japan, but thought it might also be good to be based someplace with good scenery/locations etc. TIA!
