I just lost the mutual connection with a japanese person, due to unknown bug of a dating platform called OkCupid. I very much want to reconnect with the person. I know her name in english ,and i know she has a facebook account. I tried searching in facebook by her name in english, haven't found anything related. I wonder if it's possible she goes by her japanese name in her facebook account. Japanese names that I am not able to read or type. Since I know Japanese people can have english name that's based on the pronunciation of their Japanese name.
I would be very grateful and appreciate if anyone can give some help, for me to reconnect with my dating match. thank you.
P.S I have contacted the OkCupid support team via email and reported this issue, and waiting for response. But any additional help would be appreciated.
P.S I'm 200% sure that she didn't block me, as we were literally in the middle of the conversation and it was going well. What happend was I accidentally closed the chat window on the bottom right of the screen on okcupid web(im using okcupid web on my computer), and then I could not find her profile under my match anymore, nor under "messages" section.
we really were going well in the conversation. and In fact she reached out to me first, she sent me intro first and that's how I saw her profile. I have only been using online dating products for a week, and she's the first match that reached out to me first so I would really like to try to see if I can reconnect. I can show screenshots of her intro message, or email notification from my mailbox showing when she sent her messages to me on the app, to show that I'm not a creep or stalker, if you are hesitant to help.
