Hello, I’d appreciate if anyone has any tips or things that can be tweaked regarding the itinerary plan for my family and I for this winter.
## Day 1 – Tokyo

Robot Restaurant closed, no idea if it will return in the future.
Kyoto, either focus on Arashiyama/Kinkaku-ji or Higashiyama and skip Kyoto tower. Doing what you listed will waste lot of time in transport. Kyoto is easily 2-3 days just to hit the popular spots. Also, JR might not be the best option to go to Kyoto, just confirm with Google Maps to see what is the easiest/fastest between your hotel and where you want to go, you may prefer to pay out of pocket rather than use JR.
Tokyo Metro pass is not especially a must, it really depend how many times you end up taking the subway.
