Meiji University (Tokyo) or Ritsumeikan University (Kyoto) for exchange (6months)?

I'm going on exchange in the spring semester of 2025 (6 months). Can people pls provide some insight on Meiji University (Tokyo) and Ritsumeikan University (Kyoto)? I need to make a preference list and out of these two I'm not sure which one I should put as #1. Both Kyoto and Tokyo sound like great locations to me.

As I'm only going for 6 months what I care about most is having a good experience and the prestige of the university. I'm not a party person, so I don't care too much about nightlife, I just want to see beautiful scenery, do fun activities, eat good food etc. As for prestige, I want the university which looks best on my resume. Something future employers may regard well nationally and internationally (I live in Australia for context).

And for further context, I don't care too much about the reputation of specific departments but more so the overall university reputation. This is because I'm taking my elective subjects, so I will probably do some Japanese studies, cultural studies, maybe something business related, and whatever else piques my interest.

Thanks so much for any advice on which uni is better!

EDIT: I'd also be interested if anyone can tell me anything about Meijo University, Kanda University of International Studies or Mukogawa Women's University. I understand these are not super reputable unis, but I am choosing one from these as my #3 option. Which might be best choice? (in terms of location/campus/which uni is best to be stationed at if you want to travel on weekeds etc.)
