Google states that they're required to deduct U.S. taxes from payments to creators outside of the U.S. (and whose viewers are from the U.S.), but that different rates may apply depending on tax treaties.
Would someone knowledgeable be able to tell me how much that rate would be for a Japan resident (I am a French citizen btw, if that makes any difference.. but Japan resident)?
I believe Google withholds 30% for U.S. tax purposes if no tax treaty is claimed. How much would they be able to withhold if I claimed the tax treaty?
I'm also being asked for a "TIN" but I have no idea what that is, is this the equivalent of My Number here? Thank you!
