Leaving my luggage in a hotel overnight?

Hi all. I have 12 nights booked at a hotel in tokyo, but trying to see if i can fit a day to universal studios in the middle of my trip.

Would it be possible to take the shinkansen to universal early in the morning, arrive at 8am (cause of course i want to see mario) and then stay in osaka overnight whilst keeping my luggage at the original hotel? Happy to pay for both of the rooms, seeing as the first one is already booked.

Reason being I have fatigue issues and although in theory i could make it back to tokyo the same day, it could potentially leave me bedbound for a couple days after if i overexert myself with the stress. I'm already pushing it by going to japan in the first place. Is this a silly idea and should I just skip universal?

I know a lot of people might say to extend the stay in osaka, but literally everything else I want to do is in tokyo. I'm a very anxious person and haven't ever organised a trip like this before.
When/if we go back it'll be to go to osaka anyway.

thank you for the help!
