Onsen egg with mabotofu curry mazesoba

1. Mabo Curry Men Marley-Ken (麻婆咖喱麺 マーリー軒) is a mabotofu ramen specialty shop in Ebisu, a very fancy and central spot in the heart of Tokyo. The shop was opened in 2021 and has, for some reason, picked Bob Marley as their main theme. You can see Bob Marley in their logo and listen to reggae while you are enjoying your noodles.

   The main draw of Marley-ken is the mabotofu-curry fusion, which tops a bunch of inhouse made noodles. The mabotofu sauce includes the classic white tofu and minced meat, however the sauce is an interesting mix of curry spices and mabotofu seasoning. It is definitely thicker than a regular mabotofu and sticks very well to the noodles.

   For me personally the most interesting point about this ramen shop are the noodles, which have fragrant and numbing Chinese peppers worked into them. This makes the noodles have a nice aromatic smell and a slightly coarse texture.
