Hi all!
I'm currently planning out my itinerary for Japan, where I will stay from 13th to 27th. I wanted to get your feedback on whether I have too much or too little locations picked out. Shikoku Island and Hiroshima were not really on my original plan, but the knife making course (it's one of the musts for the trip) in Kochi kinda made me add it and since Hiroshima is near I felt that it would be good to add. Please feel free to comment!
13.11-16.11:
Arrival in Tokyo (Haneda) 14:25. Book an hostel and travel around Tokyo.
17.11-18.11:
Arrive in the afternoon to Kyoto
19.11-20.11:
On the morning of 19th arrival to Osaka for a day visit and from there to Sakai to visit knife smiths + traditional crafts museum. Planning on spending the night in Sakai.
20.11-21.11:
Daytime train to Hiroshima on the 20th, check out the castle + peace museum. On the 21st Miyajima in the morning and taking the ferry to Matsuyama at 17:15
21.11:
Rent a car and spend the evening in Matsuyama.
22.11:
Whole day in Kochi for knife making workshop
23-24.11:
Explore the Shikoku island, return the car to Takamatsu on the 24th and take the night bus to Tokyo.
25.11:
In the morning get to Hakone for onsen + lodging and check out Mt. Fuji.
26-27.11: Final exploration/Shopping in Tokyo, flight from Narita at 23:00
I read that it's easier to travel around Shikoku with a car so that why I would rent it from Matsuyama and return in Takamatsu.
I have 48kg of luggage allowance so I was planning on taking a large suitcase and a semi-large backpack. Do you think I could leave the suitcase in Tokyo if I stay at the same place at the end of the trip? The idea is that I can buy stuff on my last days in tokyo to fill up my bags with something other than knives 😀
I'm planning to stay in hostels/cheap accomodations in the cities as they will just provide a place to shut my eyes, only in Hakone will I put more money into lodging. Suggestions are welcome 🙂
So too much or worth doing?
Thanks!
