Overnight train from Osaka to Tokyo

For the last night of our Japan trip, we're considering taking an overnight train from Osaka to Tokyo.

This will give us time to explore Osaka and then jump on the train to spend our last day in Tokyo before flying out.

Would you recommend? I've heard the overnight bus is not comfortable and a sleeper train would be better.

Is the Sunrise Seto our only option or are there other sleeper trains? If there's a sleeper bus that's comfortable/luxurious, we'd consider that as well.

edit – We'd consider Kyoto to Tokyo as well if that exists.
