I am looking to buy the 2nd part of genki (with the green cover) and i notice that there is a HUGE price difference between the 2nd and the 3rd edition of this book.
Are there a lot of changes between these two versions? And will I be missing out on a lot if I buy the 2nd edition? (I am following the genki course along with a native private teacher, so she already points out any mistakes that are in the books anyway)

The newer editions have updated vocabulary lists (喫茶店>>カフェ) and updated conversations. For example, they’ve changed Mary asking for the time in Chapter 1 with her making a self introduction. There are also some new supplement pages, like the addition of a page about shopping in a supermarket and asking for halal foods.
You should be able to navigate between the two just fine.
