Anyone going to Kurama Fire Festival tomorrow or experience of previous years and train back to Kyoto?

Hi, I'm intending to hike from Kifune to Kurama tomorrow and arrive by 5ish for the festival.

Have been reading about people not enjoying it due to crowding/heavy handed policing and difficulty getting back to Kyoto by train.

Was thinking of heading back earlyish around 9pm – does anyone know if catching a train back at this time will be possible? Any other impressions of the festival or the walk from Kifune also welcome!
