Hello guys,

I stay in Japan for 26 days, planing to do a lot of things including a roadtrip, i was wondering if you know any good stop between Tokyo and Osaka.

I plan to go around Fuji-san of course, Nara, Kyoto and Osaka.

Here is what i plan at the moment :

  • 8-9 days in Tokyo (Shibuya, Shinjuku, Roppongi, Meguro, Ueno, Asakusa, Akihabara, Sumida, Odaiba)
  • Rent a car
  • Quick stop at Daikoku famous car park (best at night i guess lol, any day is better to see car meeting ?)
  • 1D – Hakone Area (Chilling around the lake)
  • 1D – Going to the little coast under Hakone (Cap Irô, Shuzenji)
  • 1D – Fuji-San area (Five Lake trip)
  • 1D or 2D – Nagoya (Maybe just 1 day and quick stop at Liberty Walk Garage
  • 1D – Nara
  • 2D or 3D – Kyoto
  • 2D or 3D – Osaka
  • Going back to tokyo with an another roadtrip
  • Driving direction Nagano for doing the Venus Line and area roadtrip
  • Driving to Takasaki for the big truck shop (im a truck driver so it's something i'm interessed with)
  • Driving direction Nikko through the Irohazaka Winding Road
  • 2 or 3 days Nikko
  • Back to Tokyo for last minute souvenir

I may change the order of visiting Nara, Osaka and Kyoto, i'm not sure yet. Nothing booked yet anyway. I just booked hotel for Tokyo atm

How do you feel about this trip ? Anyone did something similar ?
Anyone have some good stop to had ?

I may also come back to tokyo right after Kyoto/Osaka/Nara. And do a trip with bus to Nikko. Still have to think about it…

By the way, for driving i need international driving license, traduction in japanese did by the JAF, ECTOLL card for Toll system, what else ?

Feel free to comment in good or bad or to suggest some changes !
