Hey I just want to confirm something… Do I understand this variation in proper way?
私は車で映画館に行きます – I go to the cinema by car.
私は車で映画館に入っています – I’m going to the cinema by car. – Is that correct?
Another exmaple:
運転します – I drive
運転しています – I’m driving
Is that always the case? For any verb?

図書館に行っています* what you wrote is “to enter the movie theater by car.”
ている can focus on an action which has been completed. 行く and くる are two such verbs. With them it means the person has gone to a place and it there still.
トムさんは1週間東京に行っています。 Tom has gone to Tokyo for a week (and he isn’t back yet).
お客さんがまだ来ています。 The guests are still here.
