So, I live in a ground floor/1F apartment with a small garden that directly abuts upto a neighbouring house's garden.
The neighbour is friendly and usually hoses the vegetables he grows for 5mins or so each morning and again each late afternoon. Though today the hosing never seemed to stop, he'd jigged the hose head up so it could hose withouth him holding it.
Myself and my son went out of our apartment to do summer vacation stuff around 9-10am, but after returning from lunch noticed the neighbour's hose was still going strong. We went round to ring his doorbell and knock on his door but no response came.
We returned back to our apartment for a while, then 20 minutes later tried his doorbell/knocking again but with no answer again I decided to go to the local Koban fearing the worst…
Once at the Koban we telephoned the main station and waited for a patrol car to return to it's Koban base before heading to the site.
Once at the neighbour's house the police took around 10 minutes to survey and gain entrance through an unlocked rear doorway to find our neighbour was just taking a sleep, with his aircon on to escape the heat, and so couldn't hear the door knocking…
So I feel great that all is as it should be, though have I wasted Japan's police's time, and so now have a record against me (my driving licence and residence card details were taken…..)
