Would moving to Japan make sense?

I read the wiki but had some questions.

I'm a software dev kinda exhausted with living in the USA. I don't like working full time, but I need to to survive because most of my paycheck goes to rent/utilities. If I buy a house here, I will work my whole life to pay it off. If I work less than full time, I will lose decent health insurance and pay crazy money for a plan that covers nothing. Surely Japan isn't sunshine and rainbows but it sounds like a good combination of safe (I have friends who studied abroad there), affordable housing (I'm ok with not living in tokyo), etc.

I know I first want to visit and learn the language.

I would want to research purchasing property while I'm in Japan. The 3 month tourism visa seems like it would be insufficient

I am not sure what to choose between school and working for a Japanese company. I do not want to work full time, in an office, as a black woman (I imagine this is the worst combination for career success) and especially not for a pay cut. I doubt I would be sponsored for less than full time. I would probably make 2x their offer on an american contract even if capped to 28 hours as a student. I wasn't itching for a masters. Language studies maybe?
