Is Japan Xenophobic, or are Foreigners just that bad?

Recently read on this thread how they systematically promote foreigners to leave after working only a few years. Immigrant labor seems to be welcome, but they definitely want you gone once your ‘time is up’.

Also heard plenty of things they’re doing to keep tourists from acting stupid. I’m with them on this, tourists can be a bit much.

But I was mostly wondering if anyone lives there, if racism towards other asian races are still prevalent. (I’m assuming they’re the immigrant laborers they’re talking about). Are they the same towards westerners? How about africans?

Sucks to hear they systematically remove workers who helped their economy. This is very xenophobic of them imo, but it’s their country. Through their stinginess, their culture does shine because it doesn’t evolve with welcoming foreign traditions, thus keeping it unique. But how far does keeping ‘traditions’ and ‘culture’ go? Does it justify racism and xenophobia?
