Hi everyone! I'm set to travel to japan with a Japanese friend in a few weeks, we're both 18M. Just looking for any recommendations, ideas, advice, or experiences others have had. Also will be my first time traveling internationally!
If it helps at all, I really enjoy clothes shopping, music, "vintage" stuff, baseball, and cars (unfortunately can't rent a car or go on a tour though, so daikoku in tokyo is out of the picture 🙁 )
Also, the reason I'm staying so long in toyama is b/c my friend has family there. Probably wont be as busy doing things (or have a ton of time to) as I will be in kyoto or tokyo, mostly just chilling.
arrival/departure days are set btw, cant move them at all as my friend and his family have already made hotel reservations
The activities listed under each location aren't really in order, just things I think I might generally want to do there.
Flying into Haneda 06/05 at about 4pm, then taking the next shinkansen to Toyama from Tokyo station
Kurobe (Toyama) -arrive 5th leave 12th(am)
- Mountain climbing
- Kurobe gorge (w train thing)
- Toyama city (+ Muji store)
- Batting cages
- Kanazawa city (maybe)
- Mountain park (apparently there's a very large slide on the side of a mountain somewhere?)
- Swimming pool (i've been told the fitness center is nice lol)
- seashore/beach
- Yakitori, yakiniku – food
Kyoto/Osaka -arrive 12th(pm), leave 15th (to Nagoya for a few hrs)
- OSAKA Stuff:
- Dotonbori
- Donquijote
- teamlabs (in osaka at night)
- KYOTO Stuff:
- Temples and stuff
- Kiyomizu
- Kinkakuji and Ginkakuji
- Saihoji
- Nara (deer and Big Buddha)
- Meeting a friend in Nagoya for lunch
Tokyo -arrive 15th(late pm), leave 18th (in afternoon)
- Harajuku, shimokitazawa (clothes shopping)
- Uniqlo harajuku
- Yoyogi park
- Shibuya
- Tower records
- Miyashita park
- Azabudai hills place (bc cool view of tokyo tower, very tall building and stuff)
- Shinjuku
- ichiran ramen
- Skytree
- Sensoji Temple (close to skytree)
- Sanrio for my gf (don’t necessarily need to go to Sanrio world to get stuff)
- Pokemon center
- Akihabara (hopefully at late night so I can run into some cars)
- get some cool retro video game things
- Emperor palace
- tokyo international forum? (next to palace, just looks cool inside)
