I'm planning to travel to Japan this summer. It will be my second time in Japan, and the idea is to follow a less beaten path. I'm still trying to figure out if the itinerary is plausible, so your help would be really appreciated!
The idea is to go from Okayama to Hiroshima driving through Shikoku, and then take a plane to Okinawa (where I'm planning to stay for a week).
Day 1 – 08/9 – Okayama and Shodoshima
- Arrival at Okayama
- Visit Shodoshima (Angel's Road, Soy Sauce Village)
- Visit Kurashiki Bikan and Stay at Okayama
Day 2 – 08/10 – Kotohira/Iya Valley
- Rent car
- Visit Kotohira (kotohira shrine) and Takamatsu (ritsurin garden)
- Stay somewhere int he Iya Valley (~happyraft guest house)
Day 30 – 08/11 – Iya Valley
- Canyoning/Rafting in the Iya Valley (~happy raft)
- Drive throug Iya Valley, stopping at vine bridges and other spots;
- Stay at Kochi (or somwhere driving to Kochi)
Day 4 – 08/12 – Kochi
- Visit Kochi (kochi castle)
- Attend the Yosakoi festival
- Hirome Market
- Stay in Kochi
Day 5 – 08/13 – Road to Matsushima
- Nyodo Blue
- Matsushima (Castle + Dogo Onsen)
- Stay in Matsushima or somewhere between Matsushima and Hiroshima
Day 6 and 7 – 08/14 and 08/15 – Hiroshima
- Visit and Stay in Hiroshima before departing to Okinawa
