Amazon Delivery Issues “Unfortunately, we ran into an issue when attempting your delivery.”

So I recently purchased an item from Amazon and put my address and apartment name + room for delivery however it has failed to deliver twice.

The delivery is through the Amazon shipping service they have so I’m not able to contact the carrier directly.

I have also tried using the chat room to talk to an associate but every time I do so I get this message

“Thank you for contacting Amazon. Our chat Customer Service is available between undefined to undefined undefined. Please contact us during this time. For fast and easy self-help solutions, please visit the Help topics on the Amazon app or website. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

Any ideas on what to do?

Edit: My only guess would be that my address is in Romanji so if this is the case is there any way I can change the delivery address? It says that the package is in the same Chome on my tracking package tan.

  1. I don’t think Romaji address is the problem. I use a Romaji address too.

    I had the same issue a few days ago, and it was a weird experience. It happened because I was not at home to receive the package. It was being delivered by Japan post. Then I scheduled a delivery on Japan post’s website but was not at home when it was delivered again. Then they sent it to the nearest post office and marked it as delivered. I was planning to go to the post office but 1 day later someone from the post office delivered it to my house.

    I recommend you to check which postal service is delivering your package. Yamato, sagawa, japan post etc. Then check the package status on their website. You can schedule a delivery or talk to customer service from there.

  2. You probably have it set to hand the package directly (default). Need to change it to leave at door, put in package locker if your apartment has it, or schedule the time for when you’re home to receive it (you can do this).

  3. This might sound stupid but… is your address correct?

    Having an address in romaji is not a problem… But having the wrong address in romaji is.

  4. Happened to me once. In my case, the seller did not print the label correctly somehow. They did not print the ‘building name’ and ‘room number’ so the delivery guy can’t find my room.
    Is it possible for you to change delivery address to nearest konbini?

  5. Amazon has been having ongoing delivery problems in Japan. If I could find a good alternative I would, but unfortunately am stuck with poor service….

  6. I had a similar issue when I moved to my new apartment. Was getting a message saying my adresss was ‘incomplete’, but it turned out that using Romaji was causing issues. For whatever reason the Amazon delivery people couldn’t search the address properly until I changed it to Kanji (but Yamato etc still managed). Have had no problems since updating it to kanji.
