Kyoto less busy during Kurama Fire Festival?

Hello! My husband and I are planning out first trip to Japan this October. We are spending more time in Tokyo but hoping to visit Kyoto in the fourth week of Oct. I understand Kurama Fire Festival is happening nearby on Oct 22nd, and that Kyoto’s main shrines and temples can typically be very busy during the day. I was wondering if anyone here knows how the festival would affect this as far as accommodations and tourist density? Is it likely to be busier on either side of the festival date, or perhaps less crowded as everyone would be more focused on Kurama?

Any feedback would be appreciated! I’ve tried to find info on line and mostly I just know that transportation to Kurama is likely to be crazy. If we’re just focused on Kyoto, how might it be?
