Hello! My wife and I are really torn on what to do and I wanted to seek advice here, if anyone could help us decide. We will be arriving into Haneda Airport at 4:10PM on September 1st. We are torn between either:
- immediately going to Hiroshima (either flying or Shinkansen) and working our way back through Kyoto/Osaka, and then Tokyo for the remainder of the trip. This would be a really long travel day on the first day, but I figured we'll be tired anyways so we may as well just get it over with. But I wanted to see if this is reasonable/possible to expect to get to Hiroshima from Tokyo if we arrive at 4:00PM or if there are too many moving parts that could go wrong. This would maximize our time and restrict the majority of our long travel to our first day.
- splitting up our Tokyo stay (about 5-6 days total) and staying in Tokyo a few days (2 days maybe), going to Kyoto/Osaka (3-4 days), going to Hiroshima (2 days), and then having a long travel day back to Tokyo, with a few days at the tail end of our trip, in Tokyo (maybe 2-3 days). This seemed the best way, but it doesn't maximize time, as it forces us to travel more during our actual "vacation days".
- Staying in Tokyo almost the full planned number of days (4-5 days), going to Kyoto/Osaka (3-4 days), going to Hiroshima (2 days), and then going to Tokyo to spend one final night (possibly at hotel at Haneda airport) and flying out. This would burn our remaining day and devote it to a travel day with maybe a bit of walking around in Tokyo before we head out the following Saturday.
Thank y'all so much in advance for those that take a look and offer advice!
