What does して mean?

I'm VERY new to Japanese, and I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've heard -して in a few words, and all of them basically meant that the base word is directed at or to the speaker (main two I think of are aishite and yurushite, and I've heard some lyrics to a song with multiple words ending with して and each one I've only ever seen translated as the singer asking for an action to be done to them)

Is that (at least a) definition of して? Or am I way off lol.. I tried searching for it elsewhere but only unrelated things come up for some reason?
