A few weeks ago I posted asking for advice on getting a large(-ish) inheritance from Canada over to Japan, and after considering the different options I decided to open a Sony Bank account. Now that is done, I wonder how to do the actual transfer. Do I initiate the transfer with Sony, or with my Canadian bank? Do I need to contact my bank in Canada first? What are the next steps? I apologise, I've never done this before so I'm totally in the dark.
How does everyone else use Sony? Just as a general, everyday bank? It seems to be convenient for use in Japan as well as abroad, and they have some incentive programs that seem good. I'll most likely keep some funds in CDN$, and drop some into yen as well in order to invest. Is it easy to transfer funds from Sony to accounts within Japan as well?
