Last minute help

I am taking a trip in about 2 weeks. The original trip was just to south Korea, but we have decided to take a couple days at the end of the trip to visit Japan. So far the plan is pretty sparse. We think with such a short time that we will probably stay in/near Tokyo. I was looking at places in asakara to stay based of some recommendations I have seen in a couple different sub reddit. I am big on food in general, but definitely want to try a couple ramen spots and at least one sushi meal. We aren't huge shoppers, but wouldn't mind checking out a shopping area for the experience. I would really like to get a chef knife while I am there. I would like to see some culture, traditional or modern, like museums, temples, show, etc.

I know that's a lot of potential things I want to do/see in a very short period of time. I'm sure that I will have to make some choices on what is most important, but I would love some input from peoplw with some real world experience and knowledge. Thank you in advance.
