Japan says new U.S. EV law may violate international law

1. That’s in reference to the requirement Joe Manchin insisted on in the recent economic bill that requires the batteries of EVs to be made in the US to qualify for government rebates or tax credits. That requirement effectively disqualifies most EVs because the US doesn’t have enough resources to make enough batteries to sustain production. EVs made with foreign sourced batteries would be disqualified from receiving government funds.
